I arrived at 2:30 to pick up my Noodle from a birthday party at a local day spa for tweens. I had no idea that seven year olds were tweens considering the tween years generally after 10. Anyway, she had her makeup done, mani-pedi, hair styled, and then cake. They also got glittered up and free bubble bath with the scent of their choice.
Hold on, Noodle is going to tell the story in her own words:
“first we get a design in our hair. Next we get glitter in our hair. Next we get lip gloss. Then we get our mani-pedi. Then we have our birthday cake. Then we get to choose what color we want and choose what smell. That’s it. Can I read it, daddy?”
Yes. She told the same story I did. But, she got to tell it herself.

Before I had my girly girl, I would have been put off by this “Spa Party” for “tweens” since 1. extravagant – I mean, the amount of money that goes into birthday parties/presents could feed so many hungry children in third world countries and 2. who keeps changing the definition of “tweens”??!? Seriously, pretty soon, 4 year olds will be “tweens”.
That said, I KNOW if LN went to a spa party, she would be giddy for a whole MONTH or longer. Besides, how gorgeous is that Noodle??
I think I want to befriend some “tweens” so I can be invited to a Spa Party…
Well done Noodle. Much better than daddy’s version.
